Description
Late in the 1970s, as members of Chile’s MIR returned from European exile to resist the dictatorship—some openly,
others underground—their children could not follow. From this painful dilemma emerged the Proyecto Hogares:
a communal home where around sixty children were raised by twenty “social parents”. Blending first-person testimony,
archival images and delicate animation, El edificio de los chilenos recounts a chapter of collective care,
political conviction and the complex legacies carried by those who grew up in its embrace.
