What Is the Festival?

The Latin American Film Festival is an annual celebration presented by Latin American embassies in Australia, supported by COALAR and coordinated locally by diferents Latin American Organisations and LACA QLD. Each year, it brings award-winning and independent Latin American films to Brisbane, fostering cross-cultural understanding and community connection. Venues include universities and multicultural centres across the city.

This festival celebrates the vibrancy and depth of Latin American storytelling. It brings the region’s diverse voices to Brisbane and fosters dialogue, empathy, and cultural pride. All films are screened in their original language with English subtitles — and most events are free and open to the public.
